Since its establishment in 1996, the Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea) has been dedicated to advancing Korean literature and culture on the global stage, enriching world culture. Through our support programs, a total of 2,032 works have been published in 44 languages, 1,454 international exchange events have been organized, and 1,490 individuals have completed our Translation Academy program, refining their skills as professional translators. These achievements have played a crucial role in securing a solid position for Korean literature in the global literary landscape.
As the leading institution for promoting Korean literature within world literature, LTI Korea has enhanced its translation and publication support systems to expand the Korean Literature Wave and facilitate the tailored global dissemination of Korean literature. We are also strengthening our professional translator training programs and building a digital infrastructure to ensure that Korean literature is more accessible and understandable to readers worldwide.
Building on our past achievements, we are planning several new initiatives:
1. Enhancing Our Digital Infrastructure: By curating a list of essential Korean literary works and making them available on a digital platform, we aim to support the systematic promotion of Korean literature and culture.
2. Expanding Content Offerings: In addition to existing resources that promote understanding of Korean literature and culture, we plan to develop and offer a wider range of materials, including explanations of Korean literary genres, systematic literary history, contextual interpretations of Korean culture, and commentaries on authors and their works.
3. Strengthening International Collaboration: By actively engaging with overseas institutions and understanding their specific needs, we aim to enrich the educational and consumer environment for Korean literature abroad.
As we enter this period of growing global interest in Korean literature, LTI Korea is committed to becoming an institution that actively supports Korean literature in securing a prominent place in the international literary market.
We kindly ask for your continued interest and support.
