Training Program for Translators

Overseas Translation Workshops

LTI Korea supports expenses and author lectures required to run translation workshops at overseas universities.

Around 35 workshops (The number of workshops may vary depending on budget, etc.)

Eligibility

Overseas universities with Korean language or Korean literature programs that meet the following conditions:

Faculty with the ability to guide a Korean literature translation workshop, and adequate facilities to run a translation workshop program for one term
Faculty with the ability to guide a Korean literature translation workshop, and adequate facilities to run a translation workshop program for one term

Grant Details

Funding: Partial funding towards operational costs (faculty fees, coordinator fees, running costs, travel expenses, and honoraria)
Overseas Translation Workshop Support: Subsidies (travel expenses and honoraria) for inviting the Korean author/scholar of the set text to participate in the workshop (2~3 days).

※ In 2021 and 2022, LTI Korea only provided funding for online sessions due to Covid-19.

※ The participating university organizes and runs seminars/workshops in consultation with LTI Korea, and LTI Korea provides funding accordingly.

※ The amount of funding may be adjusted based on budget and local prices.

Detailed information about the amount of funding requested (in KRW) and a program plan (workshop/seminar schedule and content, the set text and author, the department/program and participating students)
※ The set text must be finalized in consultation with LTI Korea.
Resumes and personal statements of the teaching staff written in Korean or English (no prescribed format)
Faculty salary table
※ Submitted documents will not be returned.
